Saunja hiking trail
The nature trail runs through a young growth of pine trees, through juniper bushes, and through a dense forest stand of broadleaved trees. In spring, it is exciting to listen to songbirds giving concerts. The hiking trail reaches the sea where you will see the restored coastal meadow. In order to restore the coastal meadow, animals are grazed there. This helps to fight off the growing reed and restore the species characteristic to a meadow. On the edge of the coastal meadow, you will find the Saunja birdwatching tower overlooking Saunja Bay. In spring and autumn, it is the stopping place of dozens of thousands of waterfowl.
The length of the trail is 1.2 kilometres.
